How heartwarming to receive these delightful photos from Guilia Mandeli today, featuring the talented students of The Berlin Drum Experience and Zest Dance Studio Berlin rehearsing for our upcoming Butterfly Wars show.
The drummers are mastering Mysteria, and they’ve crafted a special drum & dance segment that challenges AI risk to humanity with a tribal force. Guilia and Marco from Gut Reaction theatre company are pouring their hearts into this project, and it’s blossoming beautifully…
The show will feature singer-songwriter serenades, string quartet instrumentals, piano reverbs, drum and dance accompaniment... all in the style of Butterfly Wars, a video game concept album... original songs and compositions by Lou McMahon (me)
It is a truly a magical collaboration not to be missed. It is so lovely to have artistic friends in Berlin like Gut Reaction Theatre company and Jake Wiest to collaborate and create cultural exchange with, and I look forward to bringing them to Ireland with Butterfly Wars too…

Berlin, Germany – ZEST Dance Studio Berlin, directed by Giulia Mandelli, and Berlin Drum Experience, led by Marco Rivagli, announce a unique collaboration for an innovative performance on May 15th 2024 with artist Lou McMahon! This exciting event will blend the rhythmic dynamism of drumming with the graceful elegance of contemporary ballet, showcasing the talents of both schools' students, while transporting the audience in the unique story of X in the realm of Mysteria ideated by the artist Lou McMahon!
The collaboration aims to offer a fresh and engaging experience, merging music and dance in an exploration of artistic boundaries.
